The Foreign Bankers’ Association in the Netherlands (FBA) welcomes you...
The Netherlands’ Foreign Bankers Association represents the interests of more than 50 foreign banks and financial institutions from more than 15 countries, which operate in the Netherlands.
Established as subsidiaries, branch or representative offices, or to facilitate cross-border services, our members provide Dutch and international clients with a wide range of financial services, create employment opportunities, and enhance the diversity of the Dutch financial landscape.
Most foreign financial institutions operating in the Netherlands are members of both the FBA and NVB (the Dutch Banking Association). A financial institution must have majority foreign ownership to be a member of the FBA.
We have been serving foreign banks since 1993, and represent the interests of the international financial community in discussions with Dutch and European legislatures, regulators and supervisory authorities.
The FBA is a network for sharing information and exchanging views. We provide our members with valuable insights, particularly concerning the Dutch legal and fiscal framework. We organize working groups, seminars and training sessions on a wide range of relevant industry topics.
It is our mission to:
- serve member banks in their pursuit of financial growth in the Netherlands
- foster international cooperation within the financial services industry
- act as a centre for information and network opportunities
We believe in fair, reliable and transparent financial markets; markets that are open to competition and have low barriers of entry, and which add value for our Dutch and international customers from better prices and a diverse product offering.
